Truly Open Standards Are Free: Well done the ITU!

The International Telecoms Union has just done something very cool. Made their standards free. A truly open standards don’t have barriers to entry.

As I have said before it would be good to see ITIL and other standards do the same… On Standards and Barriers To Entry.

  1. Yes – a very interesting idea: they could make the PDFs avaiable at very little cost via the web.

    However, at £85 a pop, and 5 x books in the guidance, they are on to quite a nice little earner so perhaps it’s not very likely.
