James – have you tried Evolution? Comes bundles with Ubuntu desktop …

I can live with the Google Mail UI – worth it to swap to Ubuntu Jaunty on the T42. I might use Evolution, but I quite like being able to get to calendar, mail and docs from any “cloud client”!

OpenSolaris is awesome, and with a little work you can boot it off a USB Flash drive as well. I wonder if that’s going to be the main use for Google’s ChromeOS – as a secure boot environment for when you have to borrow a computer of questionable sanitary standards (think spyware-infested teenager’s PC).

By the way, Microsoft’s product is named Morro, not Moro. Presumably after Morro Bay, the Central California coastal city with the incongruously placed nuclear power plant.
