I've been really impressed by the work IBM has been doing in the last few years. They really seem to get it and are executing quickly on the bleeding edge. From their interest in virtual worlds, enterprise communication tools, and stream computing, to the global-scale Smart Planet initiative, IBM is putting it's R&D resources to excellent use.

It's good to see SAP is starting to understand this stuff as well, no doubt with the help of Redmonk. They are uniquely positioned to bring the triple-bottom-line right into the heart of the enterprise.
