James : I think you are really on to something here. Web 2.0 can really revolutionize responsiveness to stakeholders ---which is a key test for assurance standards. It will be complicated but the pay off also has grat potential. Thanks again for coming to Berlin ----- your presentation was simply brilliant.

It is good to see debate on the issue popping up around the blogosphere. A lively debate today at Spend Matters: http://www.spendmatters.com/index.cfm/2007/11/28/Africa-is-Not-the-New-Asia-When-it-Comes-to-Global-Sourcing

"We need to move beyond good intentions". Very true. It is more than aligning strategy, it is about identifying and taking the steps that lead towards outcomes. It is identifying the leaders who can bring both business and CSR visions together, and it is about evangelising the learnings, successes and even failures along the way.

But there is growing interest and support for this. Promising times.

James,

Give me a call next time you'll be in the Westchester area, so we can go to Armonk and meet some of the folks on IBM's Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Responsbility (CCCR) team.

IBM has tried to be a responsible corporate citizen for almost a century now, and I know you would find it both fun and helpful to meet some of the folks on the team.

I've been working with them for almost two years now. They have the best URL at IBM: http://www.ibm.com/ibm/ibmgives

thanks,dave
