Zimbra Gets Going With The Synchronised Web

It now has an alpha version of the offline client, Zimbra Desktop, available. I downloaded it today and I am playing with it, and it seems a fair experience so far. One of my problems in running applications in Firefox is that memory problems tend to surface, and slow down my machine to a crawl. But we shall see.

disclaimers: We’re using Zimbra inhouse, on a long term free trial basis, courtesy of Zimbra and Maccius. The trial is nearly finished, so it will be interesting to see what if any difference the new functions make to my Mac and Linux colleagues. Zimbra delivered clients for all three desktop OSes on the same day. That is goodness, whichever way you look at it. I wish Zimbra would pay some designers or find some in the community though, to come up with some nicer skins. It would also be good if someone got back to us when we pinged them because the email server is down. Lack of service is never a good look. It certainly didn’t make Stephen too happy.
