ECMA as a swiss bank account

Deliciously waspish commentary from Simon Phipps, wrt Office XML standardisation.
 
He describes ECMA thusly.
They are the “Swiss bank account” of standards organisations – expensive to use but necessary when you have something to hide.

Sun’s chief open source officer has evidently been taking his Dorothy Parker pills.

    The article itself[1] is of course about congratulating IBM on shunning TC45. Winter wasps only sting when awoken :-)
