Hi guys,

Sounds like a good one. A couple of points:

When I saw, "Google Gear's aspirations to be the new web standards work-horse, supplanting the W3C or any other standards body." I cringed.

That is the exact opposite of what we want to do. We participate IN W3C/WHATWG. We definitely don't want to just do our own thing. Liberal open source license + work with standards = make the Web a better platform. At least, that is our goal, we still have a way to go.

Oh, and it is "Gears" now, not "Google Gears" ;)

Wish I was on that 'cast. I met the SproutCore co-founder last week <a href="http://(http://ajaxian.com/archives/audible-ajax-episode-27-sproutcore-with-charles-jolley)" rel="nofollow">(http://ajaxian.com/archives/audible-ajax-episode-27-sproutcore-with-charles-jolley)</a>. Really nice guy.
