Hi,

I agree with Niels. del.icio.us should be for things which you want to get back to.

Btw, I know that del.icio.us allows daily posts of interesting links. I was wondering if you found a way to create daily posts from Google Reader shared items. I have been searching for a way and have not found anything satisfactory so far.

feeds were meant to convey article headlines."sharing" an article before reading it, does not make sense. so i think del.icio.us is more adequate.

in the other hand, people start using ATOM to convey the whole article. i don't think this is good practice btw.

I think there's a time and a place for both. Use Del.icio.us for stuff that you may want to get back to. That's what it's for, bookmarks.

Shared items are nice to just spread stuff that's interesting, it's quick, works fast and integrates very well with RSS reading, whichever method you fancy ; )

For really interesting stuff you could even do both, which adds value to the content.

Strangely enough, I've not come across any reader to persuade me away from Bloglines ... it obviously hasn't been sufficiently bad for me to move away from. As for del.icio.us vs Google shared .... I'd hate to lose your stuff in del.icio.us (which I also have had no reason to switch from). Question - where is your network, and do you want to leave them behind?

Two different purposes. You can't 'star' or 'share' something that you're not reading via a feed. I don't really have a consistent system; I typically 'star' things that I think I'll want to refer to again in the near future; other things I del.icio.us.

I think I'd rather see the del.icio.us links. More likely to see something I haven't otherwise seen.
