Danno: offline is definitely a huge part of the Apollo story. More and more, my understanding of Apollo is that it's "just" a new desktop GUI framework that's web enabled. At this stage, it's not "full" desktop GUI framework, and Adobe doesn't want to defend it as such. Adobe has difficulty expressing exactly what Apollo is because of that caution. As more and more "desktop" functionality is added, telling that story will be easier.

Ehhhhh... do not want.

I quicksearched your post for "offline" since I think that's what web apps most sorely need, more so than some fancy slick browserless way of working (reminds too much of Microsoft's XAML/Avalon/whatever the hell they were calling it).

Web apps are much more well served by just being in the browser, it's a zero cost proposition to try one out, especially these shmancy new ones that work with OpenID.
